Moving Forward...

It's been well over a month since I launched my first application: Day Analyzer. Ever since my love for iPhone has been growing and continuing this exciting journey, pretty soon I'll be launching a FREE UPGRADE to the Day Analyzer.

The additional features in the new version will include:

Grouping: This feature will let you club related activities so that you can track the time spent on these activities as a whole. Whenever, an activity from a particular group is active, the time will automatically be logged for that group.

Analysis: Besides activity wise analysis, you can also view analysis for groups.

More user-friendly: The detailed activity log will be more user-friendly. It will display logs by grouping them based on dates.

Watch this space for further updates. Till then… be organized :)

Day Analyzer

"Do I spend too much time in office ?"

"Am I spending enough time with my family ?"

"Do I sleep enough / too much ?"

"How much TV am I watching ?"

"Do I waste lot of time doing nothing ?"

"Was I doing this for so long ?"

If you often think about these questions and find them unanswered then this is a perfect application for you.

Day Analyzer keeps track of various activities and analyzes the time spent on each of them per day. The main features of Day Analyzer are -

•    Track multiple activities simultaneously using the same interface
•    Ability to configure custom date range for analysis
•    Analyze average time spent per day on the selected activities for the date range using bar graphs
•    Analyze total time spent per day on the selected activities for each day in the date range using line graphs
•    Analyze upto 6 activites in single graph
•    Ability to track activities that start and end of different dates
•    Set Auto-Off duration to automatically end tracking of an activity
•    Flexibility to edit activity logs

To get started, add an activity and start tracking by setting Activity to ON. To stop tracking, set Activity to OFF. Next time you start the same activity, don't forget to set Activity to ON. If you forget to set an activity to ON/OFF, you can edit the activity logs.

Day Analyzer - Tips & Tricks

What if I forget to set an activity to OFF ?
Set the activity to OFF (in Activities screen). Select the activity to open up Activity Log screen. Tap on Edit button to edit the log. Set the desired End Time.

What if I forget to set an activity to ON ?
Wait till you finish doing the activity. Now open the application and set the activity to ON. Quickly set the activity to OFF. Select the activity to open up Activity Log screen. Tap on Edit button to edit the log. Set the desired Start Time and End Time.

What if I accidently set an activity to ON/OFF ?
It is possible to delete an activity log. Select the activity to open up Activity Log screen. Use standard iPhone / iPod Touch gestures to delete the logs which are erroneous.

Why are some graphs showing zeros ?
Graphs show zeroes when the selected activities don't have any activity log between the selected date range. Change selected date range or selected activities.

What if an activity lasts for more than 24 hours ?
The idea behind the Day Analyzer is to analyze your day. It is not possible to directly analyze an activity that lasts for more than 24 hours. The only way to track such an activity is to break down the tracking by each day using a maximum duration of 23 hours 59 minutes.
